With summer well underway, your must-do list includes a lot of time outside…family barbeques, fun in the sun and paddling pools. While you’re enjoying the good weather outside, a number of pests including ants, wasps and bed bugs will be trying their best to get inside your cool and shaded home. We’ve pulled together a couple top tips to help keep those pesky pests outside!

**A fairly obvious but important tip is to keep kitchen counters clean and never leave food out; this is a big no-no when it comes to deterring pests. Toss or seal it but don’t leave it on counters or tables.

**Remove the garbage regularly and store it in a bin that seals tightly, otherwise you might be unknowingly nourishing pests.

**Seal cracks around exterior doors and windows with caulk, and replace damaged weather stripping to help keep crawling insects at bay.

**Divert rainwater away from the house & eliminate areas of standing water. Irritating pests are attracted to damp areas.

Our simple list will help eliminate pests in and around your home this summer. Note that top of the list is to call a professional if you are unfortunate enough to have a pest infestation in your home.
