The Cost of DIY Pest Control

The Cost of DIY Pest Control

Lately we at Central Pest Control have been receiving a number of calls from prospective clients who have ran into further issues after trying to control their pest infestation themselves. Pest control is a highly trained skill, we are dealing with registered pesticides and abiding by laws set out by   The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), which is the Irish regulatory authority, requires every person offering a pest management service to register as a licensed Pest Management Trained Professional User (PMU) and receive a PMU Number from the January 1st 2018.

We always say at Central Pest Control to our customers that prevention is better than cure, not only do we eradicate your problem we also provide measures to ensure your property will remain pest free. DIY pest control may only provide possibly a short term fix, in a best case scenario. We aim to eliminate pest problems in the long term whether that be through proofing or ongoing visits. We are highly trained in our profession and we have all the equipment, materials certificates to deal with any pest problem. We are recommending the public to not attempt DIY pest control measures as they could cause some serious health issues for themselves, children, pets and other wildlife .Be aware rodents will build resistance to the misuse and lack of training of handling rodenticides. (poison)

Pest control products should not be in the hands of someone untrained in how to use them or unaware of the protection of non-targeted species such as wildlife and pets. We have many years of experience in the environmental sectors so we are aware of animal pattern and behaviours, we will carry out a risk assessment site survey and determine exactly where your infestation has manifested and deal with your problem efficiently and effectively.

Relevant Points:

  1. False Economy: repeatedly purchasing different DIY products to clear your infestation, may work out more expensive in the long run.
  2. Health Risk: Chemicals in the wrong hands can cause you or your family serious health risks.
  3. Pest Behaviour: The public are generally unaware of pest behaviours and pattern, that a pest control expert has studied.
  4. The Law: Pest controllers must comply with strict guidelines set out by The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
  5. Preventing further Infestation: We aim to eliminate pest problems in the long term, whether that be through proofing or additional visits required.
  6. Lack Of experience: We have over 35 years in the industry so we are aware of animal pattern and behaviours, we will do our survey and determine exactly where your infestation has manifested and deal with your problem efficiently and effectively.
